ADHD Therapy
If your child is struggling with executive functioning difficulties or has been diagnosed with attention deficit disorder (any type) and you are looking for weekly or bi-weekly support, then this is the right place for you. Play is the language of children and I engage in therapeutic services for them through the lens of play. This can look different for children with neurodiversity however we still learn skills through play. For many neurodiverse children, virtual therapy is best for them as they love the electronic engagement and are very involved in sessions. In person sessions are also available.
What does attention deficit disorder therapy look like?
Therapeutic services are usually fifty minutes long and are engaged in on a weekly or biweekly basis. I am trained to see children 0-5 and 6-19 years old that are struggling with a large range of clinical difficulties. My therapeutic framework is based in play as play is the language of children. I work from multiple frameworks to support children to gain the skills needed for them to thrive. We will work on executive functioning, emotional control, impulsivity, relationships and more. I work from a positive lens as I believe we all have neurodiverse brains meaning each one of us has a unique way of viewing the world and that is what makes the world beautiful.

This varies depending on the difficulties of each child however most of clients graduate from therapy within approximately 4-6 months. At times children with attention deficit disorder will need to come back to sessions for a top up/reminder of skills here and there which is not a problem and a good thing. In that case they usually need a top up of 2-8 sessions and then break again.

That is ok you don’t have to believe it. Over time you will see the impact of therapy. Children learn and understand the world through play. Play will bring joy to your family and life. Therapy will support your child in building skills, and this takes time. Therapy is not a one time “fix.”
